The Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac sits near the banks of the Seine, on a busy route towards the Eiffel Tower. But its all-glass façade blends into the trees lining it: many walkers pass by without seeing the museum, or without knowing what lies inside. How do you turn that flow of pedestrians, French and foreign alike, into the desire to step through the door?
A scripted virtual visit, in nine languages
The film mixes 360-degree drone footage with virtual reality to immerse viewers in the museum’s world: flying over the garden, exploring the collection spaces, a sunset timelapse on the roof terrace. A visual and narrative grammar distinguishes each space. It is offered in nine languages.
Showing what is hidden
The experience starts from the walker’s point of view to reveal what escapes them: the trees part, the view rises to fly over the building, then dives inside. 3D pushes back the limits of the visible and offers an unprecedented foretaste of the place.
A strategic location
The experience runs self-service in a Timescope kiosk at the end of the Debilly footbridge, facing the building. This piece of street furniture, placed on the walkers’ path, catches the eye and invites them to discover the museum, so close and yet hidden.
