Know-how

Crafting experiences that let you live history, right where it happened

For ten years, Timescope has been building time-travel experiences with immersive technologies. Our approach rests on three pillars: rigorous sources, excellence of rendering, and the power of place. Here is, in pictures, how we work.

Proof, in pictures

On the left, the period source. On the right, our reconstruction, down to the pixel. The same scene, one hundred and forty years apart.

Historical rigour above all

Our creative process leaves no room for approximation. Each reconstruction is the result of meticulous analysis of archives, plans, engravings and historical photographs. We systematically work with scientific committees, historians and curators: everything we tell is sourced and historically certified.

Excellence of the visual rendering

We believe history deserves to be sublimated. Textures, light, depth: an obsessive attention to detail, backed by our proprietary library of more than 10,000 historical 3D assets, for environments that transport you instantly to another era.

The power of the in-situ experience

Emotional impact is magnified when you stand on the very site of the action. Our experiences are lived exactly where history was written: by overlaying the virtual past onto today's landscape, we create that thrill of watching the past resurface before your own eyes.

Frequently asked questions

How do you guarantee the historical accuracy of your reconstructions?

Every scene starts with documentary research: archives, plans, engravings, period photographs and paintings. The result is then reviewed and validated by our scientific committee of historians and curators. Nothing is shown to the public without that validation.

Where do the images seen through the Binoculars come from?

They are original 3D creations from our studio, built from historical sources and our proprietary library of more than 10,000 3D assets: furniture, costumes, architecture, period vehicles.

Do you work with cultural institutions?

Yes: the Centre des Monuments Nationaux at the Arc de Triomphe, the French Presidency at the Élysée Palace, the Musée d'Orsay and the Château de Chambord have entrusted us with their reconstructions. More than 300 projects delivered in ten years.
