Kering, the courtyard of the Laennec hospital
120years apart, to the day
1 moisof design and production
At 40 rue de Sèvres, the Kering group established its headquarters in the buildings of the former Laennec hospital. The chapel, the cobbles and the courtyard remain; the activity that filled them is gone.
For European Heritage Days, Kering wanted to show its visitors that history rather than tell it to them.
Standing in the same place, in another century
The experience opens on a plain title: "40, rue de Sèvres — A journey through time". Visitors stand in today’s courtyard and find the one of the turn of the twentieth century: the chapel, the cobbles, the nursing sisters, a carriage at a standstill. The viewpoint is theirs; the setting has changed century.
A terminal on site, and nothing to install
The setup combined a terminal installed in the courtyard with a web version opened by simply scanning a QR code, with no app to download. The texts were bilingual, French and English, for a passing audience. The project was designed and produced in one month, between August and September 2022.
