About Organizations

TimeScope is the only product of its kind with an underlying organizational hierarchy. Essential for enterprise deployment, this substantially improves employee and project administration, while focusing managers on their realm of responsibility; their people and projects.  The organizational hierarchy also provides implicit security and drill-down performance review of organizations, employees, and projects. You can create organizational structures with unlimited levels, from divisions, to departments, to teams.

The Concept. Each organization has a parent organization (except the top level), thus defining a tree structure. To each manager, the apparent tree structure starts at their organizational level, and includes all subordinate organizations. In effect, the higher up a manager resides in the organization tree the broader their view of employees and projects. This underlying design provides consolidated reporting of time, cost, and billing information at the enterprise level, while provide sub-organization managers with data visibility appropriate to their management position.

Administrative Benefits. Employees and projects can be maintained by multiple administrators, perhaps at different locations. Projects can be assigned to entire organizations with a mouse click. Similarly, timesheet approval rights can be granted by organization as well as employee. Thus, an entire organization can be approved with a single mouse click. Further, timesheet styles and user roles can be configured to suit the varying requirements of multiple organizations.

Matrix Management. Employees can be shared between organizations as required, and may be dynamically assigned to both in-house and external projects. Project leaders can be granted approval rights to just the time expended on their particular projects, while whole employee timesheets can be approved by designated approvers. Departmental managers can report on all of their employees and projects at any level of detail.

Security. The organizational hierarchy provides intrinsic security by limiting managers to accessing organizations, employees, and projects within their scope of responsibility. This holds true for data manipulation, reporting, and online inquiry. Further, user roles can be contoured to enable specific menu commands, data access, and report folders.

Budgets. Time, cost, and billing budgets can be entered for an entire organization. TimeScope automatically rolls-up and monitors actual time, cost, and billing, and can automatically alert you via email at any percentage of budget to actual.
